Cargo Bar: The original container bar

Here’s where the Christchurch night life is! Located on Lincoln Road in the new Corporate district of Addington, Cargo Bar was the city’s very first container bar to open after the Christchurch earthquake. Emerging & immediately creating a strong  following for both locals and visitors with a sophisticated after-dark destination for a unique eating, drinking and partying experience. Cargo Bar is a unique space created out of former shipping containers. Lounge on the couches, cosy up in front of the fire, or head outdoors to sip a cold beer al fresco in the heated large covered courtyard.

Renowned for expertly mixed cocktails by mixologist ‘Callum Batchelor’, served up in their unique jam jars, craft beers arriving to your table served up in mini crates & this is industrial chic for grown-ups. As well as popular  New Zealand beers, local & international wines, meet at Cargo for Supreme coffee & food.

The bar is open every day from 11:30am until late, serving all day Breakfast, Lunch and an evening menu of superb hand-stretched pizzas, platters, small & large plates  to share with friends & colleagues, all created  by head chef John Gerrard.

So if you’re looking for places to eat in Christchurch, Cargo Bar is perfect for an intimate meal or a banquet with friends. It’s just down the road from The Court Theatre and AMI stadium too; ideal for pre-theatre dinner and drinks.
