The Coffee Bean has a long and interesting history and today is most commonly referred to as simply “the Bean”. It was the first cafe established on the Balmain peninsular and has remained in business since its establishment in 1978. Craig is the current owner and most of the regular customers have remained loyal to the business with many new ones now established. Never a week goes by when a famous face or a colourful local identity doesn’t drop into the Bean for a coffee.
