The Anchor Inn is a traditional country inn and restaurant nestled in the Stour Valley, in the picturesque village of Nayland. Perched on the banks of the River Stour, The Anchor enjoys stunning views across the river and the beautiful countryside that is fondly known as ‘Constable Country’ thanks to the work of painter, John Constable.
On the menu you’ll find traditional British cuisine, with a twist, cooked fresh to order. Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and our menus are changed seasonally to respect what is at its freshest and best.
Behind the bar is an impressive selection of quality local and regional cask ales, international beers, wines from around the globe and a range of soft drinks, including freshly brewed tea and coffee from Cafe du Monde and Newby of London Teas.
Whether you’re joining us for an evening drink with friends, meeting business associates for lunch or joining us for an intimate evening meal, The Anchor Inn will be a place where you can relax and enjoy good food and drink.
Sourcing our food as locally as possible is a key priority for the Exclusive Inns group but we’ve taken this one step further with our sausages and sourced them from the local butcher on our street. Kerridge’s, who have nearly 100 years of experience, are now the exclusive supplier of sausages to The Anchor and we’ll be serving their delicious sausages with homemade mash and lashings of gravy.
Check out of our facebook page to find out which sausages are making an appearance on our specials board.
