Welcome to Southville Running Club...

We are a friendly group of mixed abilities and ages who just want to run with others in a more social, motivating environment.

Whether you just want a gentle jog around the harbourside or are up for a faster run with a measure of hills thrown in, then we should have a group for you.

We meet at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start every Tuesday and Thursday at the Southbank Club, Dean Lane, BS3 1DB (map).

A token fee of 50p is charged on a per run basis in order to pay for the hire of the room and facilities at the Southbank Club.

Be Safe - Be Seen:

If you are running on a Tuesday or Thursday night with the club, please ensure you are wearing some form of Hi-vis/fluorescent clothing as you may not be allowed to run without it. Wearing something reflective and/or illuminated will help you been seen by other road users and runners and will keep you safer whilst the evenings are dark.

Hi-vis can be bought for less than a fiver from the likes Lidl, Aldi, sports shops and other retailers. We have a limited amount of hi-vis kit for new runners to borrow.

If you are planning to join an offroad group then you'll also benefit from a good headtorch.

Excellent day's running at the Hemington 10km today organised by Hemington Primary School. The course is undulating with long but not too steep hills with a 750m bridleway splitting the tarmac sections to add interest.

Entries have opened for the Bristol Half Marathon, Bristol's premier running event. Discounted entries are available to all Southville RC runners who have both SRC membership and England Athletics membership. (In other words, you will need the full £15/year membership.)

Club discounted entries to the Bristol 10k have now closed.

Thanks to all who came out to support and celebrate the last day of the @2014kx365 by running the Green Man Challenge - a 46mile route which circles Bristol.
