Upper Canada Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary clinic based in Niagara-on-the-Lake and serving the entire Niagara region. With a keen focus on cats and dogs, we offer an exceptional level of care, treating your furry friends like our own.

Our Surgical Referral Services
Dr. Jim Turpel has a keen interest in orthopedic surgery and has performed in excess of 1000 orthopedic procedures involving Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) injuries, patellar luxation, hip disease, amputations, OCD lesions, and simple to complex fractures.
Nineteen years of clinical practice in conjunction with a very strong commitment to Continuing Education and Surgical training has culminated in the creation of the Upper Canada Animal Hospital Surgical Referral Service. This service sees Dr. Turpel treating pets throughout Ontario and upstate New York with animal hospitals referring cases to him on a regular basis.
While the majority of his time is spent on orthopedic cases, Dr. Turpel also manages complicated soft tissue surgical cases.
