Third Skiing Chess tournament took place in Joensuu Church field
(Kirkonmäki) Sunday 21.2.2016 at 14:00.
Teams of 1-3 players were welcome to join. Pre-registration by email
(pasi.franti miukumauku uef.fi).
Rules
One team member must complete by skiing distance (~50m) to a turning point
and back, after which the team can make a chess move. If a team has 3
players, then one member must wait at the turning point and the skiing
task is divided among the two players. Normal chess rules apply except
no turns: move can be made immediately when the team is ready independent
on the other team. Game ends when the opponent king is in checkmate.
It is not allowed to leave king in check. Zugzwang and stalemate rules
do not apply.
