Basketball Chess

Basketball chess tournament was organized 14.11.2020 in front of Joensuu Kuntokeidas. Four teams competed:

Team A: Tapani Mustonen & Sami Sieranoja
Team B: Pasi Fränti & Elia Sippola
Team C: Olli Virmajoki & Joonas Virmajoki
Team D: Masoud Fatemi & Nazanin Fatemi

Rules

One of the players must take their ball from the storage box, go to the basketball court and score a basket in any style. Hitting the hoop three times by the ball was also counted if not scored before that. Once ready, the player must return the ball into the storage box, return to the chess board, and then make their move. Once the move completed, the teammate will repeat the process.

Normal chess rules apply except no turns: move can be made immediately when the team is ready regardless of what the other team is doing. Game ends when the opponent's king is checkmated. It is not allowed to leave king in check. Zugzwang and stalemate rules do not apply.

Winner is Team B (Pasi & Elia) who won all their games. The other teams shares the 2nd place by winning one game each. An unofficial ranking is given based on the total minutes played.
