Maybe a corporate tax hike won't solve the 7 billion gap....... but it will help! This man is a fool along with anyone who thinks raising corporate taxes a couple points would force investment out. We would still be lower then the other provences, so you think these companies are going to move to Ontario? Yeah right!

If they want to leave Canada, let them! We don't need them here. For every company that wants to pull out, there is another to take its place!

The same thing that makes a company leave will make another company decline to come here.

Look at how BC screwed their economy up. There might be room for a half point or one point increase, but much more and we will lose our competitive edge.

Note that the issue isn't with attracting oil companies, it's with attracting NON-oil based companies. This is the only way to reduce our depence on oil for our economy to do well. If you raise corporate tax too much, all that will be left will be oil companies

Caleb S BC is doing quite well after a tax increase. Do some research.

I don't object to collection of taxes through corporations as long as we all understand those corporations collect those taxes from us and pass them on to government. Anyone who believes that corporate taxes are not passed on to the consumer is very naïve, corporations do not pull their income from thin air. Corporate taxes are borne disproportionately more by the poor through higher prices.

I know it's blasphemy in Alberta but the NDP are the only party with a vision. The PCs are a tired old white boys party and the WRP....is....well... a tired old white guys party.

Bill Ward I agree. I wish the Liberals had a little more traction but they should just merge with the Alberta Party and get it over with.

It amazes me that so many people believe if you collect tax differently that it still doesn't come out of your pocket.

Why would anyone listen to what the NDP has to say. They have never done a good job running a province, they screwed over Saskatchewan and are doing Manitoba no favors.

Using your rationale, exactly which party hasn't caused problems somewhere? WR (aka PC Right) don't count.

Royal Slade Why not, they're more Left wing than the Liberals and NDP combined.....All we need is another party that thinks Tax and Spend is excellent public policy.
No, unfortunately the 800 lb. gorilla in the room is SPENDING and theres only one party talking about it.......Wildrose has my vote

The flight of capital ONLY makes sense if there are tax regimes that would undercut us... With BC at 11 and the rest at 12 and up, Prentice is simply lying.

That will change once she is elected!

"The flight of capital"? nooo the cost of doing business. The more expensive it is, the less they hire, the less people invest....The less the government collects in precious tax dollars. Same thing happening in Calgary. Businesses are setting up shop outside of Nenshis tax grasp... We just dont hear about it as much
