Joensuu is easily reachable from Helsinki both by plane and train but we recommend you to
arrive by plane due to the conveniency.
Joensuu by plane Flights from Helsinki to Joensuu take about one hour and the prices for return flights (aproximately 90 €) are cheaper than train tickets when booked early enough. From Joensuu airport to the city centre An airport bus (fee 5 €) operates between Joensuu airport and city centre from Monday to Friday. The bus waits for plane arrival and on the way back, the bus leaves from bus station 50 min before takeoff. Route for the airport bus Taxis operating in the Joensuu region are on call at the taxi stand in front of the airport during the scheduled arrival times. The fee to the city centre is 20-30 €. In case you need to call a taxi, the number is 0601 10100 Joensuu by train Travel from Helsinki to Joensuu by train takes approximately 4.5 hours. A one-way fare is approximately 65 € but from time to time special offers take a place.
